A
truly unique boating experience awaits you aboard the RUM
RUNNER II. This newly restored Elco Motor Yacht, built
during prohibition in 1929, offers the thrill of seeing all of Newport's
harbor sights and much more.
RUM
RUNNER II was originally built for New Jersey mobsters
to elude the Coast Guard while speeding cases of "Hooch"
ashore on moonless nights. Today she carries passengers instead
of rum, swiftly and safely through local waters. She offers the
luxury you would expect of a yacht and the intrigue you would imagine
of a high speed bandit with a history all her own. RUM RUNNER II
is U.S. Coast Guard certified and capable of carrying up to 49 passengers.
Vessel departs from Banister's Wharf
in historic downtown Newport.
